Kilmarnock have hit out at Celtic supporters over their behaviour at Rugby Park and want the Scottish champions to pay for damage caused to a number of seats.

Scott Brown scored a late goal to earn a 1-0 victory for Celtic on Sunday but the win was overshadowed by a number of unsavoury incidents.

Kilmarnock striker Kris Boyd, who has previously had two spells with Rangers, was struck by a coin and allegedly subjected to sectarian abuse.

Following Brown's winning goal, a number of fans spilled out of the stand to join their captain, who received a second yellow card for his part, while photographs of damaged seats emerged after the game.

Kilmarnock want Celtic to foot the bill for the damage and also plan to meet with police to assist them into their investigations into the incidents.

Kilmarnock said in a statement: "The Board of Kilmarnock Football Club wishes to express its dismay at a number of events which occurred during yesterday's game against Celtic.

"During the course of the match our club captain Kris Boyd was struck by a missile thrown from the crowd, a number of Chadwick and Moffat Stand seats were damaged or broken while some Celtic supporters invaded the field of play and confronted our players.
