Don Goodman gives us his predictions for Wednesday night's Carabao Cup third-round matches...

Liverpool v Chelsea, Wednesday - Live on Sky Sports Football from 7pm

This is juicy isn't it, especially because they are playing each other in the Premier League at the weekend as well. Whoever loses this game will say the cup wasn't the priority and has no relevance to Saturday, and whoever wins will definitely use it going into that game.

Neither side will want to lose but I just think the depth of Liverpool this season will be what sees them through to victory at Anfield.

Goodman predicts: 2-1 (15/2 with Sky Bet)

Live Carabao Cup

Arsenal v Brentford, Wednesday 7.45pm

This will probably be the best footballing game of the whole round. I'm a huge fan of what Dean Smith has done at Brentford but they are not the strongest defensively, which you saw at Derby in the Championship at the weekend.

Arsenal will be strong in attack and I can see a close game here with both teams scoring. It could easily finish as a draw after 90 minutes but I can't call who would win if it goes to penalties!

Goodman predicts: 2-2 (16/1 with Sky Bet)

West Ham v Macclesfield, Wednesday 7.45pm

Macclesfield's form in League Two has not been good but they have absolutely nothing to lose and can enjoy going to a big stadium and playing against a Premier League team.

West Ham are under a bit less pressure after a couple of good results in the Premier League and they should be too strong regardless of the team they put out.

Goodman predicts: 3-0 (6/1 with Sky Bet)
