Kyle Lafferty will not feature for Rangers after the striker was banned from playing in Sunday's Scottish Premiership clash with Hamilton live on Sky Sports.
The Irish Football Association have blocked the Northern Ireland striker from featuring after he pulled out of Michael O'Neill's squad at the last minute ahead of last week's double-header with Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Gerrard has expressed his support for Lafferty, but says someone else in his squad will get a chance this weekend, and wants his side to put in a good away performance.
"We respect Northern Ireland in terms of the punishment they have given him [Lafferty] and we move on," he said.
"There's nothing else to add to it. We put a statement out yesterday [Thursday] which was very clear and now it's an opportunity for someone else on Sunday. It is an opportunity to go and show a performance away from home."
Hamilton are currently ninth in the Scottish Premiership table and have lost their last two games with only two wins in the league so far this season.
Scott Arfield (hamstring) and Borna Barisic (muscle) are sidelined for Rangers after picking up knocks on international duty with Canada and Croatia respectively, while long-term knee injury absentee Jamie Murphy remains unavailable.
Hamilton boss Martin Canning has almost a full squad from which to choose from after the international break allowed bumps and bruises within the Accies squad to clear up. Alex Gogic and Marios Ogkmpoe are both out with long-term knee injuries.
Hamilton have lost 87 per cent of their 15 Scottish Premiership meetings with Rangers (W1 D1 L13) conceding 13 goals in their last four games.
Rangers have won all eight of their visits to Hamilton in the Scottish Premiership by an aggregate score of 19-7.
None of Hamilton's last 18 league games have ended level, with Hamilton winning three and losing 15 of these games since a 2-2 draw with Ross County in March.
Under manager Steven Gerrard, just two of Rangers' 11 wins in all competitions have come away from the Ibrox. Indeed, the Gers are one of only two sides yet to win an away league game in the 2018-19 Scottish Premiership (also St. Mirren).
Rangers have seen more different players score for them in this season's Scottish Premiership (10) than any other side (excluding own goals), whilst only St. Mirren (two) have had fewer different scorers than Hamilton Academical (four).
