Wigan Athletic have been fined £12,500 for failing to ensure that no spectators or unauthorised persons encroached onto the pitch after their victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup.

Wigan's shock 1-0 win in the fifth round tie in February was followed by ugly scenes at the final whistle involving fans from both clubs.

A police investigation and an FA review were launched into the disorder in which striker Sergio Aguero clashed with supporters during a pitch invasion.
