SPFL fixtures 2017/18: Rangers, Celtic set to discover schedules

Scottish Premiership 2017/18 Season Fixture Announcement

Scottish football fans can gear up for the new season in earnest when the 2017/18 SPFL fixtures are released on Friday.

The Premier League and Sky Bet EFL fixtures have already been announced and focus turns to Scotland when the schedules for the Premiership, Championship, League 1 and League 2 are revealed at 9am on Friday, June 23.

Brendan Rodgers' Celtic were the dominant force last term as they eased to the title in an unbeaten campaign and plenty of eyes will be on the first meeting of the fresh campaign with old foes Rangers as Pedro Caixinha - preparing for his first full season in charge - seeks to turn the tables.

Hibernian are back in the top flight but Inverness will be playing Championship football after their relegation play-off defeat.

The action in Scotland gets underway on the weekend of August 5, with the Championship, League 1 and League 2 terms concluding on Saturday, April 28 and Premiership finale on May 12/13.

The SPFL has decided to retain a winter break after last year's trial run, meaning there will be no top-flight matches between January 1-19, 2018.
