Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri hopes Antonio Conte can succeed him as a Premier League title-winning manager this season.

Ranieri's focus is on keeping the reigning champions in the top division and fellow Italian Conte has guided his Chelsea side to a seven-point lead at the top of the table.

Chelsea took Ranieri's side apart on Saturday, winning 3-0 at the King Power Stadium even with the spectre of Diego Costa's future hanging over them.

Leicester are already 31 points adrift of the leaders but Ranieri's incredible 2015-16 season has earned him a series of honours, the latest a place in the Italian Football Hall of Fame.

Before the induction ceremony in Florence, Ranieri was asked about Conte's impact since arriving in England, and he said: "He came without uproar but demonstrated that the Italian school of coaches is valid more than ever.

"As former Chelsea coach and as an Italian supporter, I hope that Conte can achieve the goal [of winning the Premier League]."

Ranieri is also relaxed about his own future in England, although he conceded past results can often count for little when it comes to the cut-throat world of football management.

"I hope to remain in England, I'm good here, even though in football one day you are in the stars and the next day in the dust, so never say never," he added.
