What an awesome display of football from the lads against the league leaders Valley Rangers.
Despite the rain and hail, the lads were up for this. We changed the formation a little, and the lads didn't let us down.
Straight from the whistle, the lads were on the attack, and 10 mins in Jack opened the scoring, then soon after the restart, he bags another goal, 2-0. Valley pressed, but our defence, Fergs, Nathan, and Jazz were solid. On the attack again and great play from our 2 wingers, Noah and Andre, they got the ball through for Finn to open his scoring, then soon after again, he scores another. The deadly duo is on fire. 4-0. Soon into the second half, our midfielders, who played outstanding, Roo, Adam, and Matty Ham, got the match under control again. But Valley kept pressing and got a couple of shots off, but Lewis sprung into action, making a few great saves. Soon after, we decided to rest some legs. After 110% effort from Andre, we subed him to rest for the final next week, and Joseph came on and made an impact straight away and got on the score sheet with a super finish, 5-0. Fair play to Valley, their heads didn't drop, and they got a goal back, 5-1. That didn't faze the lads at all and went on the attack again, and from just inside the box Roo with a terrific piece of skill turned the Valley defenders and curled a shot into the bottom corner give the keeper no chance, 6-1. After making a couple more subs bringing on Matty C and Elijah, they got stuck into action straight away.
Valley didn't stop and went on the attack again, and they got a free kick just outside our 18-yard box. And with a great strike, unfortunately, Lewis got his fingers to it but couldn't keep it out, 6-2. In the last few minutes, we were just going to keep possession to see the time out. But Matty Ham hadn't finished, and with a wonder strike from 20 yards out, he buried one right in the top corner.
 Final whistle, 7-2.
What a result against the league leaders

2013 Tigers beaten 3 nil by the 2013 Jets

Great game to finish the season off. Tigers were unlucky not to score from the chances we created, just couldn’t break down the excellent Jets defence. The game was very even for large parts but the Jets got the victory.
Both teams were a credit to the club today.
Good luck to the Jets next Saturday in the final.

2013 Colts 1 - Warrenpoint 1

Another tight game against a good Warrenpoint side. End to end stuff but we just couldn't get that winning goal! We went 1 nil down but Harry got us back in it with a long range effort. Jude kept us in it with a brilliant finger tip save onto the post.
The boys put in a good effort and have battled hard the past 6 weeks in section 1 against red level teams.
Well done lads! πŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸ‘πŸ»βš½ MOTM Mason, solid at the back!

2012 end the season with a win πŸ‘πŸ»

A brilliant game on a fine spring evening from Hillsborough Boys against a tough Oxford Sunnyside team. After conceding a goal early on, Hillsborough really started to play some lovely football. Oxford Sunnyside’s keeper made some fantastic saves from some super shots from Oskar Purlys. However, eventually some excellent possession in our defensive line, which was played through to the midfield, who then progressed up the pitch, resulted in a lovely team goal and a 1-1 finish from Jake Duncan at the end of the first half.

Despite this, it was in the second half where Hillsborough really upped the tempo and started to play some high pressing football. Jacob Mallon pulling the strings in the middle of the pitch, a captain’s performance from Callan Rooney , super wing play from Jake Duncan and Leighton Dodds all meant that Hillsborough ran out 4-1 winners.

This was a lovely way to end the season and a super team performance. In fact, it was so good, 4 MOTM had to be chosen! However, it’s also truly fantastic to see the progress every single player has made over the last 8/9 months. They have put in such hard work and should really be very proud of themselves!

Goal scorers: Leighton Dodds, Jacob Mallon (x2) and Jake Duncan.

MOTM: Leighton Dodds, Jacob Mallon, Callan Rooney and Jake Duncan.

A busy schedule for the 2009 Juniors as we get to the business end of the season, two games last week and two coming up this week.

First up for the boys Ballymena at Wallace Park.

In a game the Juniors totally dominated, a man of the match performance saw Rylee score four. Leon, Riley S and Conall added further to the scoreline with the game ending 7 - 1 to the Juniors.

Next up was Newry at Barbours. Again Rylee continued his rich vein of form scoring another two. Tyler made a great save from a Newry penalty and Fintan sealed the victory with Hillsborough’s third.

The boys will need to dig deep for the week ahead with games on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Good Luck Boys.

2013 Colts vs 2014 Juniors
The Comeback Kings do it again!!!

Another tough game today, the boys were playing well and pushing hard for a goal but we conceded to 2 goals to find ourselves well behind. Tom scored an important goal just before HT which kept us in it. The 2nd half was a different story, fantastic team work yet again and a will to win. Tom scored a great free kick and was unlucky to have a hat trick goal ruled out for offside. Logan smashed 1 into the bottom corner to win the match. Great defending in the second half ensured the win.
Well done lads, super effort ⚽πŸ’ͺ🏼
